Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia deanandshira... Unfortunately after about an hour on the beach the sky turned black and it started to rain a little bit so we headed back to the boat. We then sailed out and anchored up next to some of the reef and we got out and snorkeled for nearly 2 hours. Celia had been feeling pretty sea sick and drinking so much sea water made her feel worse so she got back on the boat early, whereas they nearly had to drag Lee out of the sea! There were so many fish and colorful coral that once you got use to ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia celeeaHad a good sleep and woke up in the bush. Packed up and headed to airlie beach. Wandered around town and used some internet before heading to the lagoon. Lots of people at the lagoon, some of then topless sunbathing ;) Had some lazy swims and some sun baking time. Checked into our sailing trip and got the lowdown. Wandered around town a ...
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia martyd83... a 2 hour horse ride through the ranges which back the coastal strip. The was a very pleasant interlude, we climbed to the top of the range, (so much easier on a horse than on foot!) where there was a lovely view over the bay. We were also lucky to see some Prosperine Rock Wallabies which are specific to the area and are endangered. An enjoyable afternoon but doubtless I will pay for it later. From here I take a short detour inland to Eungella on the track of the elusive platypus.
Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia jatty... the boat when we moored, presumably looking for a feed. We all jumped in for a look and Craig was in his element. He and Jill have snorkelled at some fantastic spots around the globe and they were really keen to get out amongst it.

Maegan and Lucy were most keen to find large unusual shells. I found a large white plastic serving tray that must have been blown off a yacht. We found that several items had blown overboard too during our journey. I was most upset to ...

She was the only one with any sailing experience so she was our nominated skipper for the week. We were all wondering how on earth she'd get the boat back into the marina at the end of the trip.

Our guide Ed was fantastic. He explained ...
