... 8217;s surface was covered in fragrant water lilies. It was still early to see the lily pads in peak bloom, but we did find a few beautiful flowers. There were also some nice patches of blooming pitcher plants in this area. We paddled around this area, exploring for a bit, then headed over to the main part of the lake. ... surely be the largest "South of the Border" theme park anywhere just as we were leaving South Carolina.
The weather continues to be beautiful and luck must be with us as the locals tell us that they have had days of rain!
Tomorrow we drive into Richmond, VA, the Capitol of the Confederacy and will settle down for our first two day ...

... First stop was to see manatee. There were plenty to see but the water being murky in color I couldn't get good photos.

From there we went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge ( We viewed a nature video on the variety of turtle in the area, etc. The attendant told us they were releasing endangered turtles back into the ocean and said we could participate. What we experienced was so exciting.

I got up to brush my teeth after I finished writing and discovered that Alex and Hayley had actually arrived back!
