Ah, another 'enjoyable' flying trip around the expanse of Australia en route to Papua New Guinea... The flights actually weren't too bad to be honest, with a very short stop over at Ayers Rock airport and I arrived in humid Carins on time and ready to get some food and then sleep. A short wait for my bag (yes it arrived!) and then an even shorter …
... back of beyond in the bush (hence the lack of travel blog writing, apologies) I have saved my pennies and decided to head North to Cairns, Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation before heading back to wonderful Melbourne.
But back to the present, I really am not having much fun at all on this train. I had the worst night’s sleep imaginable. Apart from the token douchebag snoring like a constipated hippo sat directly in front of me, and a guy with a cough so bad ...
It's an early start to get to the boat for diving. The boat is very nice and there is tea and cakes on arrival before we have a briefing. We had a lovely stay at the City Sheridan. Comfortable, clean rooms, friendly staff, very nice pool for a very good price.
Only a short walk from the shops and the Esplanade and a fantastic place from where to visit the Great Barrier reef and North Queensland sights.
We would definitely stay here again.
