He pointed out many koala, spoonbills, egrets, nests in the trees & 'rafter?' birds; the history of the River and towns; and why white man messed around with the flow of the river. Then the rain started and we jumped up to go down the ladder to more shelter - sadly Sandy's postage stamp - uhh ...

... sadly we were over the bridge and the moment was gone. A wide expanse of strange (to us) coloured water, many dead trees in the water.
The Murray is SO important for food production, the stats of how much of Australia's food comes from this area are surprising. We were also surprised to read that 86% of SA residents have some dependence on the Murray.

Wow, what a beautiful river the Murray is! It goes and goes and goes for ages. We saw quite a few VERY large houseboats parked over the opposite side of the river, we were amazed on the size of them! The river wasn't very wide but was good enough for quite a few people wake boarding and kneeboarding out the front of the caravan park. It is an awesome spot to park your ski boat on the waters edge and walk a few meters to your cabin with lovely shadey trees everywhere ...

... the Murray River a couple of times during the ride - plenty of large Riverboats making there way up and down the river and moored at the edge. Went over a large bridge at Paringa when we finished our ride, which lifts up to let the large boats through. We also had a look at a lock, which manages the water level of the river, and lets the boats up and down the river.

... driving 5! We have just crossed the border of Victoria and now are in South Australia. As we were coming down the road and there was a fruit fly thing and they checked our car for any fruit. In the end Mum had a Pumpkin she had to give. Now we are camping at a spot on the Murry River. We lit a fire and told scary stories.

... Her great grandfather was the brother of my great grandmother, or was it the other way round!!!
