Well we are finally on the road! After a very long hectic day yesterday, packing away the last of our stuff, having the house cleaned, loading the van and packing the truck and trailer (for storage), we had dinner with our great friends, Pete and Judi at the Maple Ridge Legion. We said our goodbyes after dinner and headed to the PoCo Inn and Suites for the night. This morning we went back to the house to finish the final little bits. Closed the door on 21407, tossed the keys through the mail ...

Cooling my heels until I go to Mt Vernon WA for my front tire & oil change on Tuesday. So I thought I would explore this area, maybe as far as Vancouver or not. Kind of looking forward to eating some of the freshest fruit going!
Staying here is also less expensive than Vancouver or trying to get over to the island then reroute back to the mainland for the ride down to Seattle. Besides, I keep saying I don't like riding in big cities.
... able to relax much because wind was funnelled off the mountains to the strip of highway creating treacherous wind gusts. Having ridden the midwest, I thought I knew gusting winds but these were nudging the Vision, something I haven't experienced before.
Very happy to get into Chilliwack esp. the narrow, long overpass leading into its approach. The blue skies and huge clouds frame the mountains all around the city. Just staring out the window is a cinema of clouds.
... Monday, we packed a small bag and went to Vancouver Island for a couple of days. We had had some overcast rainy weather but woke on Tuesday to a beautiful sunny day. We caught the ferry at Tsawassen which took us to Sidney, a short drive from Victoria where we stayed the night. The 1.5 hour trip over was magic - every bit as good as we remembered it on our last trip. We went past lots of small islands on the way and loved every minute of it. We ...
Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada robncarol... Lise is very excited about this adventure. She is ready for this Life Change and with the adventurers spirit she has all should go well. It is Saturday night and we catch our plane on Tuesday. It has been some late nights for her to get all the work done she needs to do before we leave. . Our hope for this trip is... 1) we find an ...
Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada rayvingmadSo it is only two days before heading out across Canada! I'm just a little excited but i know once the rails start rolling and i can see Vancouver passing in the windows the blood is going to elevate in my system as i anticipate a great Canadian crossing ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada kiteboarder... into a mountain biking track....and the place was heaving with people of bikes! Would have terrified me to go down those slopes on a bike....even with all the darth vader type protection! Didn't seem to be scaring the people there much, not even the little kids! Decided it was time to move on...even though i could have stopped there all day...it was so perfect! Now i had a deep suspicion that the road from Whistler to Vancouver could be a problem....and i sure wasn't wrong ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada neilandamyI awoke at 6AM this morning with a feeling of anxiety. Today's the day. Today is the beginning of my long awaited trip. Today, I'm flying to Europe. Wow. Do I feel excited? Of course. But right now, I'm also nervous, scared, and doing a lot of deep breathing. It's here! Today is here! I can't put my feeling into words. It's the feeling of planning and waiting for an important part of your life, and the realization that it has finally arrived. I look around in my room ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada co11een... lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Part 2) I'm back!! So where were we, Vancouver. Yeah, really liked it here-and guess what.it rained! But luckily not on the day we decided to go siteseeing which was nice! We walked upto the harbourfront, and went up the lookout tower (which involved an outside lift made of glass-scary!) Then we wandered around Chinatown and went into a beautiful Chinese Garden which was still pretty, even though it was winter and ...
LA/Vancouver, Canada gem_and_sprack... we had to carry her home as usual. In mid July-ish I managed to get to Bard on the Beach, the somewhat misleadingly named annual Shakespeare festival. Misleading because its actually in a park, rather than on the beach, and you can't really see the beach from the tent.. but whatever. Me and Wendel got the aquabus across from downtown to where its held in Vanier Park in Kits, and snapped up tickets for Much Ado About Nothing. They're also playing the Merry Wives of Windsor and Macbeth ...
