Comfort Inn Chilliwack

Cooling my heels until I go to Mt Vernon WA for my front tire & oil change on Tuesday. So I thought I would explore this area, maybe as far as Vancouver or not. Kind of looking forward to eating some of the freshest fruit going!
Staying here is also less expensive than Vancouver or trying to get over to the island then reroute back to the mainland for the ride down to Seattle. Besides, I keep saying I don't like riding in big cities.

... able to relax much because wind was funnelled off the mountains to the strip of highway creating treacherous wind gusts. Having ridden the midwest, I thought I knew gusting winds but these were nudging the Vision, something I haven't experienced before.

Very happy to get into Chilliwack esp. the narrow, long overpass leading into its approach. The blue skies and huge clouds frame the mountains all around the city. Just staring out the window is a cinema of clouds.

So it is only two days before heading out across Canada! I'm just a little excited but i know once the rails start rolling and i can see Vancouver passing in the windows the blood is going to elevate in my system as i anticipate a great Canadian crossing ...

... into a mountain biking track....and the place was heaving with people of bikes! Would have terrified me to go down those slopes on a bike....even with all the darth vader type protection! Didn't seem to be scaring the people there much, not even the little kids! Decided it was time to move on...even though i could have stopped there all day...it was so perfect! Now i had a deep suspicion that the road from Whistler to Vancouver could be a problem....and i sure wasn't wrong ...

Misleading because its actually in a park, rather than on the beach, and you can't really see the beach from the tent.. but whatever. Me and Wendel got the aquabus across from downtown to where its held in Vanier Park in Kits, and snapped up tickets for Much Ado About Nothing.
