Hello Everyone! What an interesting and busy week it has been. We have been in Chattanooga, Tennessee famous for it's civil war battles and the Chattanooga Choo Choo (the first passenger railway servicing the South), made famous in a song.

We started off our week by checking out the natural beauty of the area. Lookout Mountain is one of the main attractions in the area and it contains, amongst other things, Rock City and Ruby Falls. Rock City ...
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States bekandjesseWe have arrived in Chattanooga and found ourselves a bargain basement priced little wooden cabin to keep us out of the rain and in the warmth, yay! This is just a short entry. This week we will be staying here in Chattanooga checking out the surrounds and making a few day trips to neighbouring states.

We will keep you updated. Lots of Love, the warm, Bek and Jesse Train
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States bekandjesse... Antietam. The civil war vets were at the height of their political power at that time. Seems the legislation passed without decent quickly. The establishment of the park was celebrated with a bbq between the vets from both sides and their families.

After the movie we work our way over to the gun exhibit. I am amazed by all the different muskets and rifles that they have there. I get to the point where I stop reading the ...

Uphill hiking in and we encountered a few downed trees. Easy coming out.

The hike took some time so when we got back on 136 North and headed on to Chickamauga we didn't stay too long. We will definitely will go back.
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Tennessee, United States mrpatrickJamie, Zach, and I can now say that we have done what all the barns and bird houses across the southeast has been requesting people to do: See Rock City. Rock City is a Labrinth of rock formations on the highest peak in Tennessee. From one spot we could Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Zach enjoyed looking at the rocks that loomed overhead and the massive waterfall.
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States hillaryjosephI ate breakfast this morning at a local Waffle House, then came here to the library to check my email and write this entry. I'll be catching a city bus to the Greyhound Terminal in about ten minutes, and will take a bus into Bristol, Virginia. I'll hitch-hike into Richmond from there.
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States cjsurplessGo with me? If you love the stuff on regular view at the Houston Museum of Decorative Arts, you'll go wild over this weekend's show at the Trade Center. It's the 24th annual benefit for the museum and its educational programs, so a trip to the show has long-time effects on the community. And what a lineup! Furniture, clocks, and oriental rugs. Books and brass and linens and glass. The ceramics include ...
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States burtonll... nature walk along South Chickamauga Creek, and Linda Kelley will treat us to an herbal crafts and flower display in Spring Frog Cabin. Spring Frog Cabin is the oldest structure we can visit in this area. It was built by a Cherokee family in the 1700s and was home to two widely known naturalists over the centuries. They'll be tickled, I think, to see us become a part of the place in a memory-building day of our own. See you there. Audubon Acres, Sanctuary Road, Chattanooga
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States burtonll... backs up the Clinch River, Fort Loudoun Dam the Tennessee, and Tellico Dam the Little Tennessee. In historic Loudon there are vineyards to visit. Most of the state's 15 wineries are clustered in the Tennessee Valley region; two are described on this Trip, seven on other Trips. The wineries invite you in to tour and taste; they'll explain grape growing, or viticulture, and how to select the wines that ...
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States burtonll... 810 miles. That translates into unbelievable water recreation! Fishing, boating, skiing, sailing, swimming, and living water-side are the norm in Chattanooga. North and South Chickamauga Creeks and Lookout Creek add to the charm. Beautiful waters! Have I mentioned downtown Chattanooga? The world's largest freshwater aquarium is at Ross's Landing! The Southern Belle Riverboat is there too; and the IMAX, the RiverWalk ...
