... not to give you the look that says - you're screwed!!!
When I finally arrived in Area A - I threw British manners to the wind - walked up to the head of the queue and fell on the mercy of one of the assistants who whizzed me through check in and baggage and onwards to the gate............yeahhhhhh!!!!
On the plane and bound for London ONTARIO where Char and Ted met me.........aaah am back in my Canadian home.
... I got my stuff back - so I smiled and said Thank you (I am after all - British) - and this was met with the - I have swallowed an even bigger wasp - look. Out of the door - down the corridor - another checkpoint - handed in my card to the second wasp person and then........(insert heavenly music) an angel appeared who smiled. Oh joy - someone human who restored my faith in humanity. I went on my way with a cheery 'Welcome to Canada ' ringing in my ears.
... of cheesecake - which btw is still in the fridge. Did I mention that Char is a BRILLIANT cook and so delicious puddings are the order of the day. I fell into bed totally full up and happy.
Soooo up at 6am this morning - keeping the cats company on the porch whilst I drank my iced lemon water and smoked a couple of ciggies.

Day 51 (June 6) -- Not a long day on the road today. We drove around London after leaving our campsite this morning. It had some interesting buildings -- one in particular was a Delta Hotel it seemed but built on to the old Armoury and they kept the entrance as the old Armoury. Also, what river do you think runs through London-- none other than the Thames, of course.
... I imagined slaves running through the forest at dawn headed toward freedom. It was surreal.
We headed out of Schoolcraft a little before 9:00 AM and stopped to eat at a Denny's-like chain in Kalamazoo. Mom realized that the Garmin wasn't recognizing Canada, so we prepared for a GPS-free trip through Canada. Luckily mom printed out directions prior to leaving California.
