Heading on out way to Uruguay, we decided to have a night stop over in Porto Alegre. Having spent a few nights quite damp near the falls, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice hotel for the night for a bit of relax and recuperation. ... and some things were getting obvious: porto alegre is not like the rest of brazil and gauchas are really nice! The poeple are much more calm compared to other brazilians, almost like europeans, so i felt almost like at home. And the german and italian influences are strong, poeple are really different here! The coffee and croissants are also really good, really italian.
