We took a 2 hour bus ride from Gramado to the place of Australia's next game; Porto Alegre.

On the day we arrived Brazil was playing Mexico.

One thing we had been hanging out to do was go and watch a game featuring Brazil with other Brazilians. And so we did it in the best style possible and we went to the Porto Alegre Fifa Fan …

I had s little ...

... to the hostel. I collected my bag and said goodbye to the staff at he hostel and Katie and Vitorio drove me to the bus station. Sad to say goodbye - they have been so hospitable and I'm glad to have made a new friend in Katie. I bought some provisions for the bus, which is very safe and comfortable. They also provide a snack and drink. This is my last day in Brazil - 12 days into the trip and I'm on the way to ...

A travel blog entry by leemclennan on Nov 14, 2014

Today I walked downtown (via Av Indepencia) and had walk around. Got a coffee from McDonalds and sat in the park near where the book fair was. It was nice though a little sketchy as there were some unsavoury characters about in the park though I didn't feel unsafe. After another futile attempt at trying to find Brazil t-shirts I walked back to the hostel via Bom Fim ...

      Downtown and beers

A travel blog entry by leemclennan on Nov 13, 2014

... it are pretty sketchy - lots of drug dealers and prostitutes. After this we went back to the hostel and had some beers (Vitorio stayed sober as he wanted to get a lot of studying done the following day). Vitorio left around 10:30pm and the rest of us (the owners of the hostel including Katchi and Juliano) stayed up drinking until 2am - a hilarious night. Went to bed but slept badly due to the new arrival snoring in the next bed. Buying earplugs ...
