... massages, what a treat. Friday night we had dinner out at an Irish bar. The food was mediocre but there were plenty of laughs and a cheesy disco. The DJ was wearing a bright pink suit and announced it was Solid Gold night, yeahhh the music was pretty bad. On Saturday we had a cooking class for team building, and then wine tasting with our meals. We ate for entree: handmade ...
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia jen75... had enough of cooking shows recently) and took refreshment in Camperdown. A sprawling town some 30k outside Warrnambool. We found a beautiful cafe there that did magnificent Honeycomb cheesecake, yum!

We managed to get a great deal at the Western Warnambool http://www.westernwarrnambool.com.au/ - only $60 per night for room only, i was slightly concerned.....in reality though whilst the room was fairly plain, and perhaps in need of a paint job they are clearly ...
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia steveandheather... that they dropped us off at the info center in town and then went on their way down the Great ocean road. We decided to book into a hostel called the 'The Old Jail'. It is basically a jail converted into a hostel and the rooms are cells? We were the only guests that night! It was pretty depressing after spending so long in the luxury of Robe. Despite this it was an interesting place and the guy running it was pretty sound. Conveniently he was also the local agent for ...
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia alandrach... visit the surf shops. Quicksilver and Rip-curl was founded here, (as was the wet-suit) so there were huge outlet stores to attract wannabe surfers like us! We still managed to leave empty handed though - they cost a bit more than the Thailand fakes! Bells beach was around here too - a big surfing beach featured in the film Point Break - but we couldn't hold out for lunch so stopped somewhere closer instead! We stayed in Lorne at the ...
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia samandchantal... marinaresc. In sfarsit, probabil cel mai remarcabil si mai binecunoscut de turisti, am vizitat si formatiunile stancoase care fac aceasta sosea sa fie asa de spectaculoasa: Golful Insulelor (The Bay of the Islands), Podul Londrei (London Bridge), Defileul Loch Ard, si Cei Doisprezece Apostoli (The Twelve Apostles). Coasta in zona aceasta este foarte inalta si formata mai ales din roci sedimentare care se erodeaza usor (geologic vorbind) sub actiunea continua a ...
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia gapostol... Nothing much to report until we spied a river on the way into Warrnambool. The river was almost completely covered in algae (as you can see) which was really strange looking. We then went on into Warrnambool and decided to get a few sights in before the light faded out. We drove out to the beach where the river we saw earlier and the ocean meet. Pretty amazing spot. Quite a few people were there fishing for eels in the shallows. Hit the town for a spin and then the hostel.
Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia eos... the train home. By the time we actually got back into our dorms, we were all shattered. We ended up having an extra long shower and a really early night instead! Wednesday 9th April 2008 We had to check out of our dorm by 11am so true to fashion Aimee and I arose at just gone 10 and then rushed around frantically trying to get ready in time. We checked out a bit late but thankfully didn't get charged or anything. We stashed our bags in the storage cupboard ...
Warrnambool, Australia littlewiggleThe road between Adelaide and Mount Gambier as we previously wrote is nothing much to 'write home about'. From Mount Gambier to Melbourne you pass through a much more picturesque stretch of road know as the Great Ocean Road and (for any South Africans it could be compared to the spectacular Chapman's Peak drive). The big difference is that the cliff's that run along the ...

Warnambool, Australia al_fey... was a superbly odd orange beach, lapped again by glorious blue waves. The cold drove us inside the van, for another weather-battered night - at times feeling like we were going to wake up at the bottom of a hill, the wind having carried us there. *356 km driven*
