... This was the first mission founded by Fr. Junipero Serra (He founded 9 of the 21 missions, and has reached Blessed Status in the church.) This mission was the most humble of all the missions, very simple and plain. They are restoring it, and it needs it. Never the less it is a wonderful spot, located very near to our next location, Balboa Park.

... state of WTF as I was. Anyway. Long story short again. I was accused of stealing a watch. ?? No ! That never happened. I didn't have a watch. I never have / had a watch. I use my phone. Wearing a watch feels weird on my wrist. And what not. Anyway. I tried explaining myself to the owner. But he refused to budge. No matter what I said. He'd remain stern, my kind ( thieves ) weren't welcome at his place. What is he talking about ? Where was ...

    ... magnificent sunsets.

The weather was holding for us even though the evenings were cool. We spent our time walking on the beach, catching up on our reading, and taking endless pictures.

Richard and Melanie took us on a guided tour to a nearby marsh where there were many birds we had never seen. The best of my pictures are shown in this blog.
