SWAN HILL 10/4/09 - 14/4/09 Packed up on Good Friday to head to Swan Hill. Fortunately the roads were very quiet so we had a good trip along the Murray Valley Highway. Had a lunch stop at a little place called "Wood Wood" - a really pleasant spot on the banks of the Murray. The caravan park was extremely busy, of course, because of the Easter holidays, but it was right on the river and adjacent to a beautiful, shady park also on the river ...

We were told of the "Steve Irwin" look-alike, so we decided to head inland for a couple of days to spend some time with the Daltons. Nisele,Wynita and childrin, live on a farm in Victoria. We fished for Murrey Cod in the Great Murrey River, hunted roos ("professionally") played on the sandbar in the river, caught "yabbies , and had an awesome time with our new friends. 

... the way the other states have done it the public get beautiful sporting facilities!! So its a lot quieter here now, good meals, Elle can have a thrill and waste $20, they have a huge empty car park and the manager says he cant see anything parked there " I see nuffing" !!! Sounds good !!!!!

... the sites are incredibly tricky to maneuvre the van into our location. Craig was a bit apprehensive about backing the van into such a tight spot and Dianne asked if a park attendant could assist. Daryl came along and we knew that we were in a little bother as he kept getting his lefts and rights mixed up and stuttered ...

... and this museum has volunteers working in some of the buildings. There were people in the music shop who demonstrated a variety of old time musical instruments and later on as we walked past again, there was a man outside playing the banjo and singing, accompanied by some of the ladies with tambourines, triangles and some home made percussion instruments. ... again that I've failed in this journey. I started getting way ahead of myself, worrying needlessly about when I return early from this trip, defanged and defeated, where would I go? Where would I live? Can it get any worse? Woe is me. For the first time, I was forced to call home for some money. It was the most embarrassing, humbling experience.
