We moved today! We left Issaquah, WA at 6:30 this morning and just arrived in Butte at 7:00pm. We lost an hour but almost 12 hours in the saddle was plenty. It was a great ride though. No big towns at all and some fantastic roads. We stopped for breakfast in Ellensburg, WA and both got off the bikes saying, "this is why people ride motorcycles". Great smooth roads, cool but clear weather, great views from every direction, virtually no traffic and topping it off with a great omelet for breakfa...

Okay, montana is wonderful and all, but i'm sooo ready to go home and get ready for our trip. as of yesterday, both of us finally hold the ticket for our flights, at least the international part (JFK-IST). i'm stoked to see ny on the way. now to tackle the rest of my to-do list!
Butte, Montana, United States maryamthomson... played chess with the kids every single employee (who came in for a cookie !) gave us huge hellos ! The gal who was in charge of the service center was the sweetest thing ever and said that although it sounded like the fuel pump the diagnostic tests showed nothing so they could not recommend that ! Talk about honest ! Anyway, she said to keep driving until something could be pinpointed and gave me all the numbers for the other Fords on our route through Montana. We ...
Butte, Montana, United States pringlefarmToday we left the vast openness of Montana and climbed into the mountains, through Idaho and into Washington. We crossed the Columbia Plateau in Washington with its huge wheat fields and semi-arid range land for about 100 miles. Besides wheat we passed fields of alfalfa, corn soy beans, peas, as well as vineyards. After crossing the Columbia River at the Gorge we again climbed into the mountains. The day was very hot until we stopped at Cle Elum in the mountains, where it was very pleasant
Butte, Montana, United States rosemarys... The barbequed pork roast. She says they roast it over a fire and make it almost every day -- even better than in her hometown in China. I concur! It looks a little bit like ham on the plate because it is glazed. Any dish with that in it will be good! I'd agree with other reviewers that the noodles and chow mein are an aquired taste for Butte residents that they have been making forever. Next time I'll try the Szechuan for more zip. I'll ...
Butte, Montana, United States folksyWe managed to get the boys up for breakfast at the Copper King at 8:30! Mom and Dad slept fine, but it was warmer than we're used to so we didn't sleep all that well. Also, the Ghost of Household Repairs Needing to Be Done haunted me -- if you think YOU have a lot to keep up and maintain, you should see this place! It was all done in the finest of all finishes when it was made, and all that finery takes quite a bit ...
Butte, Montana, United States folksyWe decided to visit some friends who were work campers at the Butte KOA for 3 nights. They live full time in their RV traveling the US, Mexico and Canada. If you have never heard of work campers go to http://www.workamper.com/ for an explanation.

I have driven many times through Butte on my way south but I have never stopped. I did not think there was much to see. Other than to see my friends I was not actually too excited about ...
Butte Montana, Montana, United States sheenavan... could easily come in. In Pocatello, we have not had a problem with insects, but we know when we get to Canada, and especially in Alaska, we will have to do battle with the mosquitoes.

Earlier, we discussed whether to take a driving tour out to Lava Hot Springs and Soda Springs. The Pocatello brochure detailed a very nice “loop” tour but after I entered it into Microsoft Streets & Maps, we discovered the loop was 250 driving miles ...
Butte, Montana, United States usagirlboy... in the open cast mine and also does some bar-work. An excellent time was had by all and MJ ended up downing 3 beers (on top of the bottle of wine during the meal). Staggered back to the tent and fell asleep. The temparature drops to 40F at night with beautiful black sky and millions of stars that you never get to see the SE England - we know this 'cos we having to make the 3am dash for the toilet block.
