... as a swamp tour. We had no idea what to expect but it turned out to be a great experience. There were about 10 of us and a guide taking off in a boat designed for sliding through tight spaces and shallow water. We spent two and a half hours on the water going through swamp areas, a lake, and a bayou and viewing an amazing array of birdlife and cypress trees. We even lucked out and had some sunshine on part of the trip.

You can get out and tour at different sites and also visit the U.S.S Cairo and Iron clad ship that was sunk in the Yazoo River in 1862 and was discovered by two guys with a compass. The ship was then raised and restored as much as it could be. The plan was to raise it in one piece but it broke in two due to the sheer weight of it. No one died when it sank and when it was raised a number of artefacts were recovered and they have a small museum ...

I have absolutely NOTHING to say. Today was a boring day of driving. We decided to forgo Beale Street and Graceland as really bad weather was predicted for Memphis and after seeing news this evening it was a good choice. We are now south of Jackson MS other than that I have not a clue where we are. The computer filled in the location above. Working our way home. See you soon..........
