Welcome to Birmingham, Alabama. I lived here for almost three years while I was in school, and my best friend still lives there, so I visit often. Birmingham is the largest city in the state of Alabama.

This is a nice hotel but it's close to the bottom of my list of favorite overnights. It's not in a very good area and there isn't anything around the hotel. And they say "don't go wandering around" so I don't. I bring my own food with me in a lunch cooler so I don't need to go anywhere. With my bags packed and with much anticipation, I left Birmingham with a sense of gratitude that I had the opportunity to make this journey with my aunt and a group of strangers who would hopefully become my friends. This trip may not be for everyone, but it is certainly an adventure of which I am proud I took.
