A Lovestruck Romeo, seen the streets

... up – feet! Feet are universally repulsive, covered in dry skin, fungal nails, funked up bent toes from badly fitting shoes and the list goes on. There is an advert here where shoe sellers say “I have never met a foot I could not fit” well, I have never met foot that did not make me retch. Please cover them up!

The rest of the day was spent on the long, dry, straight roads and once I had cleared the ...

Crazy partying, road trip and promotion!

... for me this week yet, just bad turf, trained a new rep today and I will actually be trial managing my own team starting on Monday! I’m excited for that, it’ll be a great opportunity, I think it’ll be fun, I will definitely gain more experience and skills and get paid a base again ;). Now tomorrow I just gotta smash it out there on turf and then the weekend’s comin’ up so I’m definitely pumped! I hope I ...

... to set up, rushing to get to the next town and set up camp before it gets dark, rushing in the morning to get up and dressed before the next presentation is due. Perhaps I should take a page out of Euroa's book, and take some time to slow down and smell the roses (or the musty yet comforting aroma of old books.) In other news, the idiot with the obscene text messages has struck again, and I am now in a dilemma. After I spoke to the police last time ...

Philosophical Ramblings

... we will get the chance to sit for a few hundred years and peruse the tales of Earth history which we never took to be important enough to fit into our busy lives while we were on earth.
There is a charming and soothing slowness to this town, which has suddenly interrupted the hurry and busy of even this lifestyle I am living, be it so devoid of the normal pressures of work and society. I still find myself rushing to get to a school, then rushing ...

The other side of the story

... time I actually found the park, it was pitch black, and this was, (actually a good thing) the reason why I saw an abundance of wildlife driving along this road, including the koala and owls!!

After Sale, I stayed at Paradise Beach for 2 nights, which is part of 90 mile beach. This was utterly beautiful, with miles and miles of endless sand, and that delightful ocean roar lulling one to sleep. I decided to take the day off, and sit around on the beach drinking an alcoholic ...

Back Again

as you can tell we came back to Victoria. loved it here the first time so decided to come back for more. we stayed at Paraic's uncles house while we were here so it was great to spend time with him. we decided to drive down the Great Ocean Road while we were there to get to the 12 Apostles. The drive was so long, took us 4&1/2 hours to get there cuz of all the windy roads. The views on the way there were similar as all the roads in New Zealand so ...

Scenic road trip

We took the scenic route from Canberra to Melbourne, driving through Kosciuszko (dont ask me to pronounce that) National Park and the twisty turny roads of the Snowy Mountains - not at all snowy in february of course, but still undeniably beautiful. They are part of the Great Dividing Range containing Australia's highest peak, which we think we identified! It was rather odd to drive through ski ...

Benalla

So I went home to Benalla for two weeks, because on the 13th of November my Dad passed away. On the 15th of November I caught a flight home from Berlin to Melbourne via London and Hong Kong. Hong Kong airport stinks like Ratsac. Seriously very off putting. Anyway when we finally landed in Melbourne we had to stay on the plane for a bit while paramedics came on board (case of bird flu I suspect) and when I finally got off guess who was waiting for me? Not only the lovely crew of ...

... in a massive fire in 2003 but already you can see signs of regeneration and fresh growth. Much to Paul's disappointment we saw snow only on the tops of distant mountains. All to soon we were driving down a long winding valley, passing Devils backbone, Hells Gate and Ghost River, over creeks with names of long forgotten settlers like, Jim and Jack Creek, then Albert's Track, Doctors Flat, Bentleys Plane and Harrietville. The end of yet another great drive.

... roses in the front yard, as well as an orange tree and a lemon tree in the back yard. Afterward, we went down the street to a pub for steak supper - very good. The dining area looked out on a beautiful garden. After walking around town and looking at the nearby man-made lake (little more than a pond by Canadian standards), I was starting to weave from fatigue. I went right to bed when we got back to the cottage. Today, I think we're going to do some sightseeing and shopping.
