Hurry Up And Wait...

" 'twas the night before Cali, and all through the house was a man on a mission tryin' to get the **** out... Is everything packed? Am I well prepared? A couple of shots... and I won't seem to care. As long as I've got my phone and ID, I'll party like rock stars in southern Cali!"

... is getting warmer but we also had some glorious sunshine.
Then on to Belfast, which we reached after dark, for our night at the Harbor Inn - not as special as the previous two nights B&Bs (really more of a Motel but with a great view of the Harbour - maybe that's why they called it the Harbor Inn) but quite adequate. Restaurant across the way where I {Peter} indulged in lobster, again!

Bangor Maine to Lincoln Maine

Left Bar Harbor after lunch on Saturday, and drove I-95 from Bangor to Lincoln, where we turned east on Hwy 6 to the Canadian border at Vanceboro.

The Fall colors are really starting to show off their brilliance the further north we go, and Hwy 6 was an especially gorgeous and scenic drive all the way to the border.

    A Highlight Of Our Trip

    from kylekd

Our stay was in October, 2004. The Ocean's Edge was one of numerous hotels we stayed in on our 10-day Fall Colors vacation. I rank it as one of the Top 3 places we stayed, the other 2 being B&Bs.

We had a room on the top floor (there are 3 floors, with one floor being below the main floor) with a balcony. We had great weather and the view was gorgeous! The hotel seemed pretty full as it was during the fall color season. We had "neighbors" on one side of our room and below but we found it to be quiet. It was very clean in our room and in the common areas, the staff was cheerful and eager to help answer any questions.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent! They had belgium waffle makers, toasters with bread, english muffins and bagels, assorted muffins, dry and hot cereal, fruit, milk, juice, coffee and tea. It was a serve yourself set up, but there was a nice lady to keep everything well stocked and tidy.

    Friendly, Immaculate

    from H2OGuy

We traveled all over the USA and Europe and really enjoyed this Inn. The staff is friendly and helpful. The view is spectacular. The breakfast was excellent, and the Inn was immaculate. I also liked having a guest laundry.

    We'll be back!

    Great view but . . .

    from anonymous

We booked 2 nights here in August'04 based on good tripadvisor reviews and fair prices. The room was very clean, the staff friendly, and the view beautiful. Unfortunately the hotel is poorly constructed so that it is very noisy in the room. The first night we were kept up for hours by noisy neighbors above us who had kids running around and jumping in the room. I spoke to the front desk in the morning. The man was extremely polite and assured me they were moving out that day. The second night was quieter, but still we heard every door open and close, hallway conversations, showers running, toilets flushing, and dogs barking.

    Great Hotel Great Staff

    from anonymous

The staff is wonderfully accommodating. They were exceptionally friendly and competent. The room was spotlessly clean. They even have a game room and indoor pool to entertain the kids. The free breakfast was nice, too. I just can't say enough good things about the staff.

    Ocean's Edge is aptly named

    from thpalmer3

Very clean and updated rooms, great continental breakfast, the restaurant was superior and better than many that we have tried in the area. Balcony overlooking the ocean is grat even in the winter.
