Windy Windy and rainy

... fee into the national park and then the campground fees. Here the ocean meets the rocks as the waves crash down on the rock mountain and also on the beach. As we walked out to the beach we nearly turned into human kites it was that windy. The sand is white and the water is blue and beautiful but because it is rainy and wet and really cold we cant appreciate the beauty that this place would ...

... that were lost and injured during the First World War. There was a huge Statue that was a replica of one that has been erected in Egypt for the Australian soldiers but was destroyed. We also saw lots of lizards there sunbathing in the early morning sun.

Then we drove along to Castle Rock and did a long hike up to the top ... and saw the most amazing balancing rock at the top! Andf the ...

Venturing Out of Perth - Rotto, Freo and Esperance

... throwing up till 5pm and couldn't actually eat a single thing until 7 that night :S Worked out it was raining so we didn't really have much going on anyway but that pretty much killed that day for me. Monday we headed back, and took a quick detour over to wave rock on the way. Basically its a massive rock that looks like a wave, kinda cool to see for sure but I wouldn't plan a day trip there or anything. After that it was just a long road back listening to Tori try to ...

... much better and cheaper! So did all the touristy things here, Whale world very interesting, and went out to the Gap and the bridge. Then got talking to a couple at the camp site which led to drinking wine and putting the kids to bed late. Any how sore heads all round this morning! And that's it folks i'm up to date will try and get some photo's added soon. Take care Jx

Esperence

... amazing beaches. Esperance is home of the Recherche Archipelago so the view is quite spectacular with all the rocks/islands dotted about the ocean. We also visited Pink Lake, which believe it or not is PINK. This is caused by the algae (which has a high level of beta-caratine). Basically it's the stuff that makes carrots orange. The sign said there are a number of pink lakes in the world including Chili (clearly not proof read before printing - it's Chile for those of you ...

Day 63-70 Esperance

... my handbag pretty full! The kids started running races again and another boy joined in. This provided much hilarity as Max was super competitive and they started making obstacle courses and handicapped the races because their friend was a few years older and was kicking their butts! The Gibson Soak is a ripper of a hotel. The meals were expensive but large and extremely impressive. Foolishly Dad and I ordered lamb shanks and to see the look on our faces ...

more of the end of WA

... the pool to the very depths of the brightest blue water, appeared to be the most isolated place on earth, away from everything unnatural and modern and destroyed by us. it would have been absolutely amazing to have been brave enough to lower ourselves down into that pool, but being that it was just the two of us, and with the weather not exactly showing favour, a slip back up to the crevice causing a twisted ankle or broken arm, could have meant all sorts of trouble for us. no worries ...

Day 61-63 Lucky Bay - Cape Le Grand National Park

... foreshore whilst the kids played on the equipment near the mini railway and enjoyed a real coffee at Taylor St Café beside the Yacht club. Maegs was keen to go to the $2 shop - we hadn't seen "shops" per say since Streaky Bay! We delayed any shopping til after our next camping stay in Cape Le Grand for when back here on a longer stay. Then we visited the info centre to buy our W.A National Parks pass. The system in W.A is different to S.A ...

On the road again

... marked upon if for emergency use by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. After a long day of driving and after completing our 750km we pulled off the road to look for a home for the evening. We were right at the Eastern end of the Nullarbor and found a spot right on the cliffs to watch yet another beautiful decline of our local solar orb, before seeing the other worlds solar emitters appearing in the inky black night sky.

Hallen bliver ...
