First port of call - Visit Elsa and Ken who are about to become first-time parents at the end of December. We're very excited to meet our new grandchild, probably by Skype the first time, in late December. Our travels will take us to Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah, with a possible trip to India in May to celebrate Eugenie's 50th. birthday.
The bump is very big!
Having returned to the relative calm of Canada just over a week ago, I've had time to reflect on my 2 and a half month adventure round the US. I had ups and downs. There were tears of laughter and tears of joy. There was sunny weather and snowy weather. I met fat people and I met fatter people, been introduced to family, made new friends. I've been north and south, travelled east and west, and throughout it all, one thought was never far from my mind. America ...
Aurora, Ontario, Canada holliday... internet land.
Have wonderful visions of wandering our few acres making trails that i can snowshoe on and getting my 'yoga' studio (which is really a broken down drive shed at present) ready for wonderful calming moments! mmmm not sure if those will happen but i can dream a little! Have to remember to learn some yoga as well first.
In reality i will probably be wrapped up in my 'slanket' with hot water ...
... in a can just like the plane Mom and took last year to Copenhagen. I don't I will every fly again using an Airbus A330.
Italy was everything and more than I thought it would be. We saw some great sights, ate the best food and drank the best coffee in the world. We took over 1,200 pictures and now we have the job of sorting and editing.
... br>I laughed, reached down to her, hugged her, and gave her a kiss. She recognized who I was. What a joy. The long trip there, at that moment, felt all worthwhile. A tear came to my eye as I held her hand, asking her questions before the other relatives arrived.
The rest of the day we spent with other relatives. Fourteen in all. My Aunt hosted us for lunch in Mount Albert, and we were able to see ...
... and in those 2 weeks I probably learned more about what I was capable of doing and wanting to do, and will to do. How much effort I was will to put into something, and I don't think my heart was truly in it at that time in my life.
I ended up spending the rest of the summer at home.
... I did do everything I wanted to do, got to see everyone I wanted to see, so I left very happy. When I went to the airport to check in my luggage, I had two bags and 30 kgs... OVER THE LIMIT. Yes, 60kgs in all. The woman behind the counter succumbed to my pleas of reducing the charge (how am I supposed to move halfway around the world, again, without all my stuff?) and I ended up only having to pay for a fraction of what it would have cost me. I was singing ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada dnaHello all! It has been a really long time since I've updated my blog! Blogs without pics are kinda boring, and it takes sooooooooooo long to upload pics in Zambia. I'm back in Canad now and promise to add some pics today:) Well, obviously I finished my work in Zambia. Overall, it was a neat experience, but I'm glad to be finished. I never did get used to living alone, and the safety factor seeemed to be becoming more and more of an issue. When I finished work, I south to Livingston ...
Barrie, Ontario, Canada maggie_georgyThis was my first attempt at basic, I was pumped to be there, but the reason I was sent home, was because I had a panic attack while doing the shuttle run and couldn't get to level 4. Now that just totally bummed my summer, I ended up going back home, and was put to work on the farm. That so was not what I thought my summer was going to look like.
