Drove all day until it started to get dark and pulled off at a Super 8 motel in Elizabethtown (name of one of my favourite movies). I was tired from the long drive ~800 km today so I let myself chill to watching cable TV! Something I never do since there is no cable in the country.

I realized when I was going through my photos that I took very few photos in Tennessee or Kentucky! I was pushing pretty hard, the weather was awful and I was on very busy roads where there was nowhere to pull over. What can I say except, Sorry! … so I’m including a few from my 2008 trip when we had perfect weather.

... drove towards Bardstown. Bardstown was voted America's most beautiful small town.
We found a gorgeous campsite situated right on a lake. Our first night being proper campers. We cooked a yummy meal on our two burner cooker, sat in the evening sun drinking American bud light.

The van is great to sleep in, a comfortable bed and blackout curtains - just like being at home.
After breakfast we drove into ...
