After we picked up the kids, we did a little more shopping and we had dinner at home and packed. It doesn’t sound like we did much but it was a great day, we accomplished a lot and got a great feel for this city.

We debated about doing a day trip to Mysore – a beautiful town about 3 hours away by car that is home to a fantastic temple, some gardens, and a palace. We ended up passing as we wanted to check out Bangalore and also Bhupesh wanted to stop by and say hi to a few Nike Bangalore folks he had worked with in the past.

We ended up sleeping at 4:15am, and got up at 6am to leave for the airport at 7am. We were emotional and we were tired but I think we felt the connection we made with everyone was so strong that it would be up to us to make sure we keep it going.

We arrived at Bangalore and Vijay picked us up. Vijay and Nita are our friends from Portland and Nike. Nita's brother Ravi is married to my cousin Madhu, so our kids and their kids are both cousins with Madhu and Ravi ...

I thought to myself, I hope the inquiry takes over three weeks as I have two flights scheduled on Jet coming up. I hope the check pilot is still suspended when we fly that airline later this month.

... too exciting, but the view from the top of the parking garage was pretty amazing! For a city of over 5 million people, there really doesn't seem to be any place for them! The parking garage was the tallest building around, but I guess everything in the area is just very dense. The food we had in Bangalore was pretty amazing too! I really do like Indian food, but the stuff that they have on campus is already ...

... to see the birds. dont put your hands in the water coz its also a crocodile infested river, hah! the boat man says its safe!, visit a catholic church - St Philomena's Church, Lalitha Mahal Palace turned hotel and restaurant - try having your lunch there so you can roam around inside the palace, so can even look at the king's room btw. and of course, the Famous Mysore Palace. I get so enjoy my visit in India... hope to visit Taj Mahal next time. ;)
