Bikes were still getting soaked with packs on board.
Chris hands me the 'now found' keys and while she holds one of the sprinkler heads I feel in the dark for the padlock. And, because this is the maiden voyage for the padlock, I can't find where the key inserts. Sprinkler systems don't care if you're having difficulties...
Finally, the lock's undone, and we're racing through the sprinkler ...

... National Monument gefahren. Dort gabe s wohl mal ziemlich viele Indianer. Die haben sogar feste Unterkünfte gebaut. Offensichtlich erging es denen ähnlich wir uns. Auf die Dauer war das mit dem Camping denen dann auch zu anstrengend. Zumal die ja nur Zelt hatten. Also haben sie sich so kleine Hütten gebaut.

This was a spur of the moment deal. The carpet cleaners were here at the house and we needed to go someplace while the place dried.

Where to go? Someplace close and interesting---someplace we hadn't seen yet...

Always a sucker for scenic roads, we took off east to Globe. While not what you'd call picturesque itself, the road there goes through the beautiful Queen Creek canyon.

Bob says it's 80 miles of driving for 2 miles of scenery ...
