      ... Mt. Shasta including a full blown tour of what's-what and price inquiries at all the promising hotels. We ended up staying at the Alpine Lodge, one if the more hiker priced and quality establishments in town. By the time we checked in and set our bags down it was only 6:30 pm.       ... seeing more and more incredible scenery. We rounded a bend and BANG! There it was, Majestic Mt. Shasta, standing tall and snow capped. Like I said before, when your planning your routes you don't always think about the terrain and what it will offer up. I can't imagine living near that beautiful mountain and seeing it everyday.
