The Longest Day Begins

A travel blog entry by traveled on Aug 23, 2014

This Friday was my Friday off at work. Thank goodness because I had a ton of preparation to do for this vacation. It was only to be two weeks long, but wanting to pack light for weather that would be fairly cold (meaning heavier clothes) and rainy had some challenges. I spent most of the day doing laundry, dishes, taking out the trash, and other chores, along with packing. Later ...

Just Making Miles

On our way to Best Western Alamo Suites in San Antonio, we ran into rain yet again. So far, we’ve been pretty lucky, but at random stops, ...

The Gulf roughly lapping the shores; beautiful homes on stilts, pastel colors of beach community homes were easy on the eye. I wish more of them were caught in pictures. Small farms, resturants and shops dotted the main drag and the bay was so still in direct contrast of the gulf. This was an enjoyable ...

... with Risa's old phone. Her number is 956.371.6030. Texts welcome here too!! We are close to Beaumont about now and are enjoying a beautiful sunny drive. Robbie is very excited about going through the states today and keeps asking why Texas is so big! Soon enough we will be enjoying some fried alligator in Baton Rouge. I'll keep you posted of our travels. Everyone is excited and knows today will be a long day in the car. Love u guys! See you ...
