    ... as sometimes it influences my route, but this morning I couldn't as my internet connection had timed out and I didn't want to pay $5 for a new one. There you go being cheap again!

    If I would have, I would have seen this huge storm system covering almost my entire route! I am not sure what the information would have meant to me but it would have been nice to know! Perhaps it would have influenced my rain suit decision.

    Then we saw lots of oil donkeys as we approached the coast. Shipping on an inland canal, protecting oil ships from the sea.

    We camped at High Island. It is high because it is on a salt dome, which is associated with finding oil underneath. It is also a bird sanctuary for migrating water birds.

    ... fire hydrant painting in dalamation colours. Happy to report we did not see either one! Arrived to our rv site for the evening in Beaumont since it was a long days drive, compliments of Walmart. Had a wonderful no peak chicken dinner prepared non other by amazing sister in law. Went into Walmart for a few things and sat outside with our lawn chairs to enjoy the mild and bug free evening. Lots of love bugs ...
