... on the plane we got as much rest as possible.

It was with some anticipation that we landed at Incheon Inter-national Airport (voted #1 by travelers - Skytrax, 2009). It is visually and ascetically pleasurable. There are elegant cultural touches throughout. We enjoyed the two hour respite. Certainly an opportunity to stretch all mayor body parts. Then on to Beijing (less than a 2 hour flight).
Atlanta Airport, Georgia, United States gonzdomAfter a very very long drive, we finally made it to our first Hotel in Twin City Georgia just right outside of Valdosta at 4:00 AM Eastern Time. Our GPS system told us that we would arrive at 4:03 and we pulled in the parking lot at exactly 4:03. The kids did really good in the car, we were very thankful for that. We stopped and ate Cracker Barrell in Kentucky. We ate with the flies in the restaurant and they were driving everybody ...
Twin City, Georgia, United States schubbefamily... apparantly increased there. I did not leave the hotel room much for a while after hearing some of the awful stories of fellow pipeliners being robbed and harassed. The life of a pipeliner's wife isn't so glamorous anyways though. Alot of dirt work..... clothes washing and such. ((I think I might have been suffering from a touch of homesickness too))
But despite all these hardships there is still a strong sense of community. I ...
Millen, Georgia, United States sethnjessnobles... today is the demise of the merchant bank Lehman Brothers, stock brokers Merrill Lynch being bought out by Bank Of America, and the world's largest insurance company, AIG have announced that they are in trouble. All good stuff! On a slightly selfish note though, the dollar moved quite significantly in our favour today.

Miles travelled: 166

Total miles travelled: 11195

Days on road: 100

States visited: 19

National Parks visited: 11
Reidsville, Georgia, United States thebusmonkeys... bar where Rob couldn't find anything on the jukebox that was not in the country and western stable. Still the locals were friendly enough and I seem to remember a fairly decent game of American Football on the telly. Tomorrow we hit the coast for a step back in time for me... Americus, Georgia, United States kforeman... hear the line "I am a redneck woman and I got a baby on each hip" The folks were interesting down there, I meet a rainman character in a bar in Atlanta. The whole bar was playing bingo, where you won chicken wings and buds for getting a bingo. This fella was in his forties wearing a dirty t-shirt, beer belly, no top teeth and working for Wal-Mart. So he was flying through the cards and getting more than his fair share of chicken ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States sunnysean... there is a kinder and gentler life in the smaller towns in America. Small towns seem somewhat insulated from the negative aspects of life in big cities. The Daily Journal of Round America: Each day, we collect our thoughts on a web page just like this. We drop in some of the photos from the day. Our goal with the Daily Journal is to write about the ...
Statesboro, Georgia, United States roundamerica... photos along the way. We saw some expressions of patriotism, but nowhere near what we all saw after 9/11. Dacula and Madison showed the greatest patriotism. (Round America Photos from Dacula Georgia) We briefly visited the towns of Auburn, Barrow City, Winder, and Statesboro.
