      ... go grocery shopping once we arrive at our destination. So off we went. Driving north on 281 we ran into the usual traffic, but it seemed we were making good time. About Bulverde, I heard Bob say "****" and "we have no brakes" the "low brake fluid light" came on and by the time we could slow down enough to pull off, we could smell the brakes.       ... dropping. Got down to 27 degrees that night. The views were awesome tho. The place was the start of the Texas Hill Country and we had a spectacular sight of about 10 miles of it.

      Foregoing breakfast we headed out early the next morning none the worse for wear. The hill country is like it says, hilly, and curvy, and beautiful. We enjoyed our ride thru and later in the day we were back in the desert type terrain. When I steer the motorhome ...

      ... The air was getting cooler, so the 40C jacuzzi was rather nice, especially after getting out of the pool! After enough swimming, we showered before heading to bed. A drive to Austin, the Texas capital, awaited the next day, and although it's only an hour away, most campsites expect you to check out in the morning, so unless we wanted to be driving tired at all, it meant quite a few early nights in the coming weeks. What a shame...

      ... limestone…that pinkish tan stuff. We passed through small one-streetlight towns where you could eat at Doc’s Fish Camp and Grill or the Double Horn, buy your favorite pick-up (I think everyone in Texas has one), western boots and John Deere tractors.
