Yawwwn. Hope everyone is awesome, will be calling people soon. Just made it through the great basin after a couple 18-hr riding days so just heading to find a campspot first. In the meantime: photos of the desert! (mostly taken by a deleriously tired ...

... This, incidentally, was where the first Western was written - The Virginian, which sort of started that whole genre.

Drove along the Sand Creek Massacre Trail, where about 165 unarmed women and children of the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes were slaughtered by the US calvary, a senseless and shameful black mark on our history.

The highlight came early on when we saw some wild horses galloping across the track in front of us, but after this, there was very little to inspire. ... have been nicer to have the tower a little closer to the yard area, but I assume security concerns won out on that decision.

As we passed through Laramie, we did send a special hello to the University on behalf of Roxy. So far, no word back.

Not a lot else going on. Hope to be into Utah tomorrow, maybe even Idaho.

So maybe there'll be more then.

... AL I tried to add some steps to my pedometer after dinner (10,000 a day is the goal); In Vicksburg, MS I tried to add more steps, even in the heat and humidity. In Nacogdoches, TX we did some grocery shopping and had some warranty work done to the coach; in Athens, TX we had a new braking system installed on the coach/Jeep. At the Winstar Casino/RV Park in Thackerville, OK we used the really nice walking path ...
