Once away from Pops, we also stopped at one of the original Route 66 attractions, the Round Barn. It was an original round barn from the mid-1800's that had been restored. One of them honors Rev William Stevenson, a 1815 pioneer Methodist preacher who is considered the one who brought Protestantism to this area, since it was still under Catholic influence from Spain at the time. He preached to Indians and Anglo-Americans. We found the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor's Center and picked up some information on the area.

    Next day we walked all day, down the Champs Elyssei and found a lovely café and enjoyed lunch French style.
    The highlight was "Moulan Rouge", what a show, the meal was lousy and the seating tight but the show was magnificent, bought the brochure.

    ... and dirt and said dirt turned instantly into mud and little lakes all over the lot. It rained just long enough. The funniest part about the rain is that a woman who came to the first show complained to me about the mud on the lot, saying, "I’ve been coming to this lot for years and I’ve never seen it muddy!". I had nothing to say, so I just smiled and moved onto the next person in line.

    As I check into America's Best Value Inn (value for money strongly inverse correlated to taste), the friendly girl at reception enquires what brings me to Paris, Texas.
