So today Donna flew out of NYC to LA to get her connection home to Brisbane. We've had such a good time and it's sad to see it over, bit feel really lucky to have had the opportunity. We got up and Donna packed up most of her stuff. We then caught the subway from Columbus Circle up to 103rd St so that we could walk the top end of Central Park. It was a beautiful morning and the park looked great. Different feel up this end, more woodsy, but still great. We wandered ...

Caught the subway from there to Grand Central Terminal. Saw signs directing to platform 117, not sure exactly how many there are (our central station has 26 platforms). We then walked to the Empire State Building. After various queues, $32 each and about an hour, we expressed up to 80th floor for the museum and audio tour. Listen ...

... and centre on the mezzanine (dress circle, Americans have trouble calling things by the correct name. In Macy's the mezzanine is also know as the 1 1/2 floor in the lift which confuses them to no end.) Gigi turned out to be pretty good and I was pleasantly surprised. I only nodded off a couple of times in the first half, or I think it was only a couple of times but I stayed awake for the whole of the second bit. There was a big deal about the lead actor playing Gigi, seems she starred ...

    Snow and John Lithgow

... I woke at 6:30, energised as always after not many hours of sleep, which seemed to be my habit in New York, and went out to the lounge so as not to wake Bon. With a cup of tea and my iPad and the curtains pulled wide, I awaited the snow's arrival. I could tell it was freezing, as the people I could see walking along Tenth Avenue and the High Line opposite, were obviously well bundled up against the cold. Later, Bon too arrived and then suddenly ...
