      Today we got our morning sandwiches from the local bodega on our way to Central Park. Definitely a beautiful area, but like the rest of New York and underlying dirtiness and constant construction. Unfortunately the Bow Bridge was having repairs done on it but was still a nice spot.       ... which is an abandoned risen train route through the city which has been converted into a garden-like trail. This I'd highly recommend as it's a great way to see the west side of the island. Next we went to see the flatiron building before heading to Central Park where we met Josh- another friend from home joining us for the trip .       There is a reassuring emphasis on the role and dedication of the unfortunate responders who while performing their roles lost there lives.
