    On the road we go again, today we cross into Oklahoma. On the outskirst of Eureka Springs we make a quick stop at a the Thorn Crown Chapel. It is architecturally beautiful with a spectacular forestery woodland backdrop. Please read the story on the link below as to how it came about.

    ... is another Corp of Engineer parks on a beautiful lake. Fort Gibson Lake is in eastern Oklahoma about 180 miles from Oklahoma City. It is a large lake and there is ************e here. Thank goodness the kids are still in school! This park has nice big sites and is divided up into two campgrounds. We are out on the peninsula in the smaller campground. We like seclusion. There are no sewers here but we have water and electric so we are good.

    ... LJ told me that it was a chelliwhopper, or something like that. I also saw another one but this one had its mouth closed and seemed alot more nicer than the first one. Then, we visited a submarine - USS Lapton which is in the back garden at the AL Post. To simulate life at sea, only the conning tower is above ground. We looked around it but didn't have time for anything else.

    ... was difficult because I had all the cold weather gear on top of my regular clothes. After a few minutes with horns blaring I found the cash and went on my way. I soon discovered there are tons of unmarked toll roads in Kansas and Oklahoma. I had to stop a total of 9 times to pay the man.
