    ... you could have fit even the smallest item in that trunk the way he had it packed. Each stop we would rearrange the mass of dirty laundry, toiletries, etc. until by the last stop we were down to one small carry-on with toiletries and one clean outfit for each of us. He was also the master driver doing all but 2 hours of the driving on this trip. If he was not able to drive these long stretches, there is no way we would be able to travel as much as we do now.     ... For the first 20 mins it rained so hard it became a problem seeing the road and other traffic , the worse rain I have ever seen , even worse than what we have seen in Africa but then we are in American and the rain drops have to be bigger :-) Anyway it stopped suddenly and as we came to South Carolina out of the hills and onto the plains.

    Our first day will be traveling. I leave from GSP at 7am and arrive at Dulles around 10:30 am. I'll leave for Italy at 3:30pm Flight from GSP to Charlotte was short and sweet.     Ummmm....okay....this is one of our two remaining relaxing "down" days (the other one is tomorrow). So, wouldn't it be nice to drive to South Carolina? It is only nine hours or so. Well, sure, why not??
