87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). Ausable Chasm was worth the stop...and provided a scenic hike. Colorful trees amidst interesting layers of rock were amazing! ... western shore of Lake Champlain. We found ourselves a doggie friendly hotel and settled in for a few days. Nice quiet location and room and a park to take Ozzi for walks - all we needed.

... cabin our buddies rent each year around Labor day. After the weekend, returned to home base NYC for a couple of weeks before flying to Seattle to begin the next adventure.

... bought before the party really got started. Tim had fun looking through all the left behind goods in the attic and is now fantasizing about roaming the country and becoming a 'picker' for a job. (Apparently there's a TV show called Pickers where these people go around and find antiques at peoples houses and offer them money for it). ha ha.

... Its worth the stop for the tour and don't forget to visit their "Flavor Graveyard" to see if any of your old favorites are resting there. Its really kind of funny.
