Today was a very, very hot day. As we rode East towards Calgary the temperature rose sharply as the mountains faded to foothills. After stopping at friends of John and Helen, John continued East on his own as Helen was catching a plane home to Ottawa from Calgary airport. John stopped in Brooks Alberta to visit some relatives, then ended the day in Medicine Hat at a very cheap motel.
