... it. -When we arrived at host it was scorchingly sunny and 108 degrees. Burnin'. -Ate fresh fruit and Gatorade -Shower at the local pool -Called friends and family and bike shops -Dinner time! ... Plaster City and Seeley. Ocotillo is at sea level. The temperature increased considerably. It was at this point I stopped riding in the 96 degree temp. The distance between Pine Valley and El Centro is about 65 miles and I rode at least 30!!!!
We are staying at the Clarion in El Centro and the internet is very slow. I'll add photos when we have a faster ...

History of Slab City

I thought I would give you all a history lesson about Slab City and what the out come can and will be if things don't change.

Slab City is actually the abandoned Camp Dunlap Marine Training Facility, formerly located 3 miles east of Niland, California. ... not give you the right to not take care of the land here. In riding around this place called Slab City you see a lot of trash just tossed around. There is a disposal area about a mile away but so many people choose not to use it, down the road they will close this place because of these reasons and you can't blame them.

As you can see there are some amazing sunsets here at the Slabs!
