... it. -When we arrived at host it was scorchingly sunny and 108 degrees. Burnin'. -Ate fresh fruit and Gatorade -Shower at the local pool -Called friends and family and bike shops -Dinner time! ... an hour and a half we were leaving the mall. Phoenix's heat reputation was well earned as it was blazing. I was glad to get back into the car and have the AC going.

It turns out that Jacumba is right on the border and the new border fence goes VERY near to Jacumba. The fence appears to be about 12 feet high and is rust colored. It runs the length of the border except where it butts up against mountains. Those areas are very hard for the illegals to cross.
