island until the 9AM tour start. Gardenia took us around a little bit of
the island, spending most of our time on the Nature Trail. What we saw
was mostly plants but we did get a good look at an iguana and learned
that there are also cats, chickens, and peacocks on the island. She
spent most of her time talking about the mostly good (except for
poisonwood) trees and shrubs and how ...

Late night at Cocoa Beach

... 7 AM on the east coast right now, so the run would have put me behind schedule. As it was, we slept in a bit too long and got on the road about an hour late. We were able to use the hotel computers, located prominently in the lobby, to purchase and print our Islands of Adventure tickets before we left, fortunately, which would save us a bit of ...

... saw a short movie of the launching of the rocket that went to the moon, which was pretty cool, the theatre where it was shown was also the control room of that rocket which was doubly cool. That was probably the highlight of the day. Hopefully, we will have a better tour at Kennedy Space Centre next Sunday.

After a full day at Kennedy Space Centre we drove down to Orlando from Jacksonville (about a ...

... could be a big summer lake again.

I saw some awesome wave rides by surfers from around the world. Many are here for the 25th NKF Surf Fest, this weekend from September 3 -6. Watched a 13-year-old young man from Barbados have the best ride I ever saw. He carved that wave like a sharp knife on a Thanksgiving turkey. I got a great video of him. Talked to a 60-year-old local long boarder who gave some great surfing tips as ...

    DIRTY ROOMS, WOW

    from CBTOURIST

We stayed here on Nov. 21st. Theroom was dirty, huge amount of dirt in corners, I don't think anyone has cleaned behind the chairs since the place opened. The Bathroom could use some new caulking around tub, We were in Florida 16 days and this was the most money we spent on a room and it was the worst. Look Out for Cockroaches. The grounds were not to bad but nothing worse than a dirty room. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY.

    Horrible, dirty!

    from anonymous

The room we had, and quite frankly, the entire hotel stunk. Our room looked like it had barely been vacummed and the bathroom floor was dirty. When I complained about the cleanliness, they offered us another room but it was smoking. So then, they offered to give the room extra attention that day. As far as I can figure, they just used extra air freshener. There was still months of dirt and pieces of paper in the corners and the bathroom floor wasn't clean. The restaurant was also closed while we were there. Unfortunately, we booked through Expedia so they couldn't refund us. I would never stay there again.

    Worked for me!

    from eth72

Just a nice, basic motel. Great for the night before our cruise - probably 5-10 minutes from the terminals, a minute or two from the beach. Room was clean, nothing fancy, but had wired hi-speed internet which was a major plus. Pool and jacuzzi seemed nice; felt safe there.

    Good value

    from anonymous

stayed 3 nights pre cruise. although not super fancy, and shows a bit of wear,(working on some storm damage too) room was very clean, staff was helpful, excellent location if you don't have a vehicle, breakfast at snack bar was as good as I HOP across street! 8$ for 2 to shuttle to port canaveral. 1 block from beach, great park and cruise deals, check their website, prices were much better than travel sites on their own website

    Problems with rooms

    from BAKER33

the location is not bad. The head housekeeper is very nice and tries to get things done. It's another matter, however, with his staff. We found broken glass behind our sofa, the fan blades had not been dusted in a very long time and the bathroom mirror was not cleaned. And, we wrote to let the hotel know after our return home, and they never bothered to answer us!. I would suggest another hotel.

    Great Laid Back Holiday

    from Love2TravelCovington

This hotel is one of my favorites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Housekeeping staff is second to none, they do a tremendous job. The grounds are always kept nice, and the rooms are very nice: especially in the tower. Cocoa Beach is a treasure that not many people know about. It's old Florida, laid back, wonderful beach, quiet evenings, some fine restaurants, yet close to Orlando, Daytona, etc. This is a great FAMILY destination as well, and the hotel can serve your needs. I've been staying here for the past 15 years and have never had a bad experience: only smiles, and treated so very well by the staff. It's like a second home.

    It's OK, nothing too special.

    from katie#2

We stayed here during Speedweeks, February 2005. Drove up to Daytona for the big race. It's OK. Rooms are pretty dated, but are kept clean. The front office staff was wonderful -- very friendly and helpful.

Very short walk across the street to the beach. Nice pool area. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

    Overpriced

    from hwky77

not a very good value, very over priced for what it is. Bathroom looked like it had been in the war zone, broken casing on the door, patches on door and ceiling. for the price you can do better.

    Holland America Cruise

    from anonymous

The Comfort Inn was very nice if you were in a suite. Our's was on the sixth floor and it over looked the Atlantic Ocean. We had arranged to keep our car in their lot while on our cruise. They arranged for transportation to and from the motel. They did a good job.
