office highrises and big hospitals to almost look like a real city.

National Geographic Traveler featured Birmingham in an
article earlier this year and it looks like there’s actually a fair amount of
interest to occupy a visitor for a couple days or a weekend. I had committed
myself to being at my friend’s house in Huntsville in ...

Later we drop Alexx off, pick up Leo, and drive to ******* where Pam and Gerry live. Like Kay and Dominick, they have a beautiful and large home. It's in a gated community and we have to call them for the gate code! They show us the house and then we ...

      Oops! Wrong Vulcan!

Tomorrow we arrive in Atlanta (Lord willing!), so today we had a leisurely morning and didn't leave Jackson, MS, until after 11am. We drove to Birmingham, checked into our hotel (very nice - more frequent hotel points from Dan's Lockheed days), then drove up to Vulcan Park. It was very interesting; I'd never heard of the statue Vulcan in Birmingham before, but then, I've never been in Birmingham before (other ...
