Unbelievable today no sign of fog, a little overcast in the morning but a fine and clear afternoon. Morning commenced with a local guide taking us for a drive through the old and new towns. There are some remarkable buildings in this city tour ended with a visit to the castle. ... setting and the remains of a chapel of unknown date. Nearby was The Culloden Moor viaduct – 28 spans of Scotland’s longest masonry viaduct, opened in 1898. We called in to an impressive Centre that tells the story of The Battle of Culloden of 1746, but decided not to go in as to walk the site was 6kms and we didn't have time to do that. Did I say it did not get any better than yesterday? Well it has!! This afternoon, we travelled down to the Gleneagles Hotel at the famous golf course. On the way, we stopped at a lovely town called Auchterader and wandered down the High Street. we found some quite unusual veggies at the local greengrocer. Sad-times earlier this week as I had to temporarily say goodbye to my wonderful Frog (The nickname affectionately given to my Fiat Multipla by my family). The Frog sets sail on the 26th of June and I will be able to track it's sea voyage to Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), where it will be loaded onto a car transporter for its onward journey to Lusaka. All being well, I should see it again some 5255 miles away in a different continent on August 5th.
