Did I say it did not get any better than yesterday? Well it has!! This afternoon, we travelled down to the Gleneagles Hotel at the famous golf course. On the way, we stopped at a lovely town called Auchterader and wandered down the High Street. we found some quite unusual veggies at the local greengrocer. Holyrood Park is a Royal Park in central Edinburgh which is just gorgeous and is made up of Lochs, glens, ridges and basalt cliffs. It was formerly a 12th century Royal hunting estate. The park was created in 1541 when James V had the ground enclosed by a stone wall. The park is now publicly accessible and contains Arthur's Seat the highest point in Edinburgh and the cliffs of Salisbury Crags to the west. Well we have quickly realized over our day and a half of being here that central Edinburgh is really quite compact. Howdy folks!

Just a brief update of what's going on here in "The Burgh".

  • I ate my first haggis today! Absolutely a milestone in my Scottish experience. For those who aren't familiar with haggis, it's a meat dish which looks a bit like minced meat but which is actually made of a sheep's intestines (heart, liver,...).
