Up early again and at the gates of Holyrood Palace for the opening at 9.30am. A wonderful building still in use by Queen Elizabeth. A square building built around a central quadrangle with two towers at the front. The public display area takes you around the first level up. Beautiful pastered ceilings and ornate furniture.

The highlight for me was to climb the ...

Otherwise known as the big day out. Pretty much the longest day I've had, in terms of non-stop touring from 9am-6pm (excepting coffee and lunch breaks). Every night she has cooked us amazing meals and I am excited to say that tonight we are having cottage pie (Shepard’s Pie as some refer to it as). We had it once already, but ...

Great buffet with bacon sausage a couple types of eggs hash browns and all the usual continental breakfast assortment. We were then on a walk to Edinburgh castle. The castle is built upon the largest rock on town and was built to stop attacks from the English. It was a super busy place for tourists but we were able to ...

... and coffee. We almost got through the cakes but had to take some pasties home in a wee doggie bag. After that we wandered around the hotel and its grounds and wondered how much it would cost to stay there. We were too afraid to ask!!!! Then back home for tea. We thought we were too full to eat anything but Fred tempted us with his famous homemade chips with that tattles from his veggie garden. Wonderful. All washed down with a wee dram of Whisky (AJG ...
