... but we continued on trying to be happy with the fact that at least it looked as if I'd make the distance.

The remaining part of the ride included a creek crossing - Erin coached me but I screwed it up and got my feet wet regardless. It was kinda fun though, and I was just glad I hadn't fallen completely in the water! Wonderfully, the last part of the ride was on the old Beechworth railway, which is now a walking and cycling path. After all our dirt road riding ...

The meeting had a very strange ending, though, as one of the ladies had asked for my email address to continue the vegetable oil discussion, then suddenly changed her mind and didn't seem to want to know me after I mentioned that I disapproved of the brand of coffee they bought because it came from coffee growers who were oppressed with poor work conditions ...

Albury, New South Wales, Australia tstewyBus to Albury. SO HOT! Theres a major heat wave going through Aus right now. Temps in the 105-110 range where I am. It makes walking any sort of distance with a backpack pretty unfun. I did basically nothing in Albury, got in about 9 pm, left around 11 the next morning. To be honest, it didnt seem to have much to offer and I had no desire to stick around longer than I had to.

Jinderra and Tallangatta, Australia newtripper... I thought, "What the heck? I am opening a new chapter in my life. Besides, these are Australian horses..." Well, it turns out that the ride went perfectly, I may have even enjoyed it a little. And then we came back... We were inside the stable and I was attempting to dismount my horse. Apparently not being overly graceful when it comes to this, one of my feet got stuck in the stirrup and I ended ...
