... boring but we made it safely. By the time we got out of the show it had started snowing and didn't stop until after the show we had tonight. Tonight's show was our biggest in attendance yet. There was roughly 1500 people there and a BOSE sound system. So that was a lot of fun to play with. Robert's voice is still amazing as ever. Sam and Robert are both selling a ...

Luckily we hadn't started the engines and
just as we were walking the bikes to the parking lot Byron rode up on
his antique BMW. He is the area representative for BMW owners of
America and today he was our samaritan and saviour. 4 hours later both
tanks were drained and although he offered to put up his old tent and
let us sleep in his back yard we managed to get another 100kms down the

... Yummy!
We did get a chance to go to the farmer's market where Paul's aunt Verlys and Uncle Wayne work selling fresh produce. We bought some really good apples from them.
We missed seeing Paul's sister Karen this trip because of our time constraints, but hope to see her sometime soon.
We had a good nights sleep and breakfast at Perkins then off to put some serious miles on these ...
Jeriann again….
We were so sad to say good-bye to our students! As David said, it like having all the emotion of the first day of school and the last day of school wrapped up in just one week. Our volunteer team said good-bye to our Austin, Minnesota friends (community members who organized the summer language camp) by cooking a Spam dinner for them. We made an appetizer of "Island Teriyaki Bites" (Spam, pineapple, ginger, phyllo ...
Jeriann here……
Last night we had the privilege of being invited to the home of one of our students. The dad so generously answered our questions and helped us to understand a little about life as an undocumented worker. The dangers and challenges you have to go through to cross the border and how incredibly expensive it is. Even after you get settled somewhere and find a job life doesn't seem that good to me ...
What can I say....we were following the trailer and the trailer missed the turn off to bypass Chicago. That SUCKS! We ended up in stop and go traffic for almost an hour in the middle of the day. And we had to go through a lot more tolls taking I-90 through Chicago. Which wasn't too much of a problem for me (I have an EZ-Pass for ...
Albert Lea, Minnesota, United States big_red_truckWell toady was our last long day of driving, or so we are told by the 'Mother'. We drove ten hours (approx.) and arrived here in this tiny little sixty-six site KOA around five ish. There's not much to see or do here, although we did stop at the 'Corn Palace" a building whose decorative front is made every year - solely out of cor. And we passed a sixty foot model of the green giant. My band teacher always ...
Hayward, Minnesota, United States sgiordano... exhibit I've ever seen outside of the Museum of Natural History. Bison, polar bear, mountain goats, and every other type of animal "in a tribute to the American sportsman" - craaaaaazy. We gladly paid about 20% less for items than we would at home (I'm sorry I didn't do more shopping!). On the way in, we admired what looked to me like lifeguard stands, but Bret informed me they were hunting platforms. Oops! "It takes TWO days to cross South ...
Albert Lea, Minnesota, United States rebeccapcohen... dot the whole area. As does Austin (home of Hormel) and Albert Lea, which is, as my wife describes it, "a big, ol' shippin' town." It's unassuming, and that's what I love about it. One critique though I do have of Minnesota is that the signs are ugly and difficult to comprehend. Now, to add insult to injury, I must say, Minnesota, that your hated neighbor of Wisconsin in fact makes too many signs, but they are all clear ...
Albert Lea, Minnesota, United States ejensen09... along the road for about 50 feet and landed safely at the right shoulder. It sure was starting. We are camping at Hickory Hills just inside of the Minnesota border at Albert Lea - the mosquitos are really bad so we retired to the camper - luckily we had time for a swim and a supper of odds and ends before the bugs found us. Sorry - no pictures as the bugs were really nasty. We had many bugs find their way in to our tent trailer - tomorrow we will check for flaw in our bug amour.
