Today was a day for local sightseeing, so Joe, Tony and I headed downtown Roanoke to visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation. While we went primarily for the railroad items, the museum also has some really nice displays for other modes of transportation, including air flight and a 1949 school bus.
The outside displays are predominantly where the railroad stuff is at. ...
... but at least one from Delaware. This ended up being a really nice place to visit as the food was outstanding. And we could park on the street for free.
Tomorrow's plan is to go visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation in downtown Roanoke, then head out Sunday to the Cass Valley Scenic Railroad in Cass, West Virginia. Joe, Kathy and Tony are planning to travel with us to ride the rails. So I'll bring you up to date then.
... people, visited a local cavern, saw many waterfalls and stopped to take many many beautiful pictures of the mountains. So as you can see we have not been up to much! Too much to write about and too many photos for one blog!! We also treated our selves one evening to a lovely BBQ of ribs and beef skewers......which after the constant american food was a relief! We then crossed over the state line and headed for virginia beach...oh dear bikinis again!
