    ... re repairs!!!!just a little late to try for us to get it somewhere for repair. DRAT! oh well, just wanna b home now !! 4 more hours. there are piles of snow now but not just on the ground.     ... and I wished I had taken some back routes. We turned left as we hit the edge of the city proper and headed east. The last two hours replayed themselves in reverse- the buildings began to be spaced out, the road narrowed to two lanes, and the traffic diminished and sped up until we were again riding across the grassy plains on eastern Colorado and western Kansas passing or being passed by the occasional car or truck.     ... The kids both got t-shirts and postcards. We went out to explore the museum and the town sheriff was looking for Deputies. Duncan and Maggie volunteered. They had to demonstrate some skills needed to be a Deputy like sauntering, running, and hopping on one leg (in case you were shot in the leg). They received stars pins. It was fun. We all got a Sasparilla soda ...

    ... so curious and bright. They made me miss the grandkids. She said that we could do laundry there, and stay there until her dad got off work. We told her that this was our first day of decent weather, we needed to make up time.
    We got about 25 miles out of Ark City and were taking a break from a terrible wind fight. We found a cute little white church on a country road. Perfect resting spot. We got a text from Amy that she and her dad were on their way to help us. ...
