We've spent the last three days in Sarasota boat shopping mostly. Yesterday we saw four 42 foot Grand Banks trawlers - as it turned out two different styles (Classic and Motoryacht) and several different ages but all about twenty years old. While these are lovely traditional yachts I think we've decided there's too much maintenance on them, especially with regard to the teak, and they may be just a little too slow for the boating we have in mind. At least the weather has been conducive to sho...
Sarasota, Florida, United States 9livesToday was kind of a down day as we realized that it wouldn't be smart to buy the Bayliner 3988 we saw and loved yesterday. The value of the Canadian dollar just makes a purchase like that too much to swallow. Richard decided to golf and I wandered over to the Ringling Museum of Art which is only a block away from our hotel. Even though I'd read about the property I really had no idea what I was in for. General admission includes entry to the Museum of Art, two circus museums and the Ca d'Zan ...

Sun City, Florida, United States lagalag1... We have a couple of pictures of the ceremony. Suffice it to say it was very nice, the reception was fun, and we are now tired and ready to hop on the plane across the pond. We check out today and send Drew and Barbara back to Florida with the truck while we go to Dulles airport for the trip over.
St. Petersburg, Florida, United States tedanderinstarr... Most of all I want to learn about life, and how to better live it, without having fear or doubts. I want to go out and party a lot of the time, but i also want to stay grounded and find a good balance between my two sides of my personality. Patience is the key to all of this. If I can stay calm, relax and wait my turn, I will have successful travels, and accomplish my small goals.
Cheesy I know...**** it....Lets just see what happens...
Many pieces Mr. Ringling commissioned to be painted expressly for his personal collection. If you get anywhere near Sarasota.....as Darcy says, "Go, it is worth the trip!" We missed getting to see the actual, restored train car that John and Mrs Ringling used when they traveled with the circus. Next time!
