... shots. Not happy. Needless to say, we slept well that night.

On Friday we caught the shuttle in again and picked three of the Smithsonian museums to go and visit. We did heaps of walking again, but this time it was at least in air conditioned comfort. First stop was the Natural History Museum, where I learned that echidnas lay eggs. Second stop was the American History Museum, where I liked the President’s Exhibition. Julie ...

... off just before lunch time.

The canal's current zipped us right out to the Delaware Bay where we spent our afternoon into the evening traveling to the Bay's entrance. ... shops - including ANOTHER Kohrs frozen custard store (which Garry could NOT resist) . A full day out for us, but pleased to come back to Cape May for dinner at home. We had been told by a Policeman on duty, if staying for the evening, not to stray from the Casino blocks.

After welcome heavy overnight rain(our first since leaving NZ in 30 days), we set off on the bikes this morning ...

    Before the starting gun

10'x15'... the past 5 years, 2 bedrooms and 4 floors of our home is now crammed into a one cinder-block cell, the mail has been stopped (doubt I'll miss it) and tenants who will be kindly paying our mortgage for the next 12months are now moved in and we're officially "homeless".
Bethany Beach is where we'll be calling home for the next few weeks, until we jump out on the road at the end of July.

I could think of worse places to lay-low for awhile.
