... we didn't care. The museum was very interesting as it displayed all the motorcycles from the beginning of the company to the ones from today. Also on display were how each motorcycle were designed and constructed.
After visiting the gift shop, Susan and I decided it was dinner time so off to Chicago we went.
We met at Les' house in Glendale to finish packing. We had a great dinner with some Chilean wine. Wow, tomorrow we will be leaving. I hope that I have a toothbrush. I needed practice posting a photo to this blog. We leave Milwaukee at 12:50 and have a short layover in Atlanta tomorrow. Pam
Glendale, Wisconsin, United States pamellingson... sat one row behind where we should have been and it was fine. We got the old person bus because they did not want a movie on the way to Chicago. That is fine we will watch one on the way home like last year. We arrived in Chicago at 9:30 and we were dropped off on Rush Street behind the Chicago Place shopping center.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States maryandtimWe left early so that we would have enough time to deal with traffic on the way to Chicago. We got held up right by 84th street on 894. We exited the freeway and took 76th street south to the Racine boarder. This was much better. The rest of the way there was not too much traffic. We stopped at the oasis for a Aunt Annies Pretzel before the show.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States maryandtim... on Friday November 7th and on into Mexico on Sunday November 9th. It will be at that time we will start our diary about what we find in Mexico. Hopefully we can get online enough to keep you up to date. I will post our itenery later.
Haste luego,
Dave and Lynne
Today was absolutely beautiful in Springfield; sunny and high 70s. The show only ran to 2:00 so we were able to get on the road pretty quickly. Got home just after 5:00.
Walked around the city a bit more this morning and checked out the State Capital building-very cool.
Just ...
Exciting times! One more day before the big trip and we are doing out last minute preparations before we go. There are things to be packed though and that will get done tonight and then a little bit more tomorrow. We have an evening flight so we should be pretty well rested and ready to scout about Copenhagen as soon as we get checked into the hotel.
Stay tuned for more!
... It has worked out well however I realize how idealistic I had been.
Enough on the mental aspect. I flew out of Milwaukee airport to San Fransisco to staging. It was so hard to say goodbye to my parents. We spent 2 hours in the airport just sitting and talking. I was lucky enough for them to support me in my peace corps dream. The flight was good but they lost my baggage because of my connecting flight. That mess will be in the next post.
Now we're up at Racine, right on the lakefront. The sun came out for a while, so we've got a great view of lake Michigan!
Dave just cleaned up the car, so now we're off to check out the scene!
Got a bunch of our local friends coming up to see us.
Great times already.
This morning I got up with my mom and we went to breakfast at the Sauganash Restaurant with Jeaneane. We were thinking of going to the DaVinci exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry but I was so tired, and we walked so much yesterday. So we just stayed home and hung around the house a bit. I took a nap and then Margie came home from running her errands. We had her birthday cake ...
