As we move so close to moving on, I realize that I've been miserably negligent in updating the TravelPod. Even though we were working 20 - 40 hours per week at Cedarlane RV Park, we still managed to enjoy ourselves on our days off (generally Sundays and Mondays).
We explored a Confederate Officers' Cemetery on tiny Johnson's Island; visited nearby Marblehead Lighthouse a couple of ...
Cedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.
There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
On September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.
The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
... very oddly shaped - we excited to be there. Before we entered we shared a hamburger and chips. A pretty great first impression when you walk in. When you are line to pay they snap your photo with a cool guitar so you can buy it later and we did! We spent numerous hours there viewing the 7 floors and we probably spent the most time in their store - it was huge and a lot to see and buy - $200 bucks later we were out ...

Wildlife seen: 3 Deer (Oh boy!)
Highlights: Uhmmmmm..... Not necessarily a highlight but we must have passed a bazillion stalks of corn while driving. Actually, nothing too exciting today, we just racked up a "few" miles on the truck getting from point A to point B. Luckily, we had great ...
Just wanted to upload some more pictures of our life and times around Cedarlane RV Park. We're both working LOTS of hours (~40/week apiece), which is more than we had expected...but it will certainly help the finances, which is why we're doing what we're doing!
I'm going to have a go at blogging this roadtrip Harry and I are making. I'll be doing most of the typing cos he's sleeping at the moment.
We left DC in terrible weather but cleared the Maryland commuter traffic before it got too bad. Not much to report from the drive - mostly I could see trees, little white farms with red barns and rusty silos. further into industrial Pennsylvania, not far from Pittsburgh, we passed an ...
... park with the largest collection of Roller Coasters in the world.
Booked into a cheap n' cheerful motel, and headed to the park early the next morning. Shortly after arriving, a thunder storm broke out and we thought the day was ruined. Thankfully it cleared up before lunch time, and the earlier wet weather deterred many visitors ...
... that the tourist season hasn't yet begun, we weren't able to take an official tour (not sure that climbing that many steps would be a good thing, anyhow!), but we enjoyed the outside of the lighthouse and the pretty park surrounding it. Of course - I took lots of pictures
