Vi havde egentlig sat uret til at vække os kl. 6.30, men på det tidspunkt var jeg ikke i stand til at tage nogen steder. Vi sov en time mere, stod så op og pakkede vores ting (vi fik ikke engang børstet tænder). Vi takkede Danis for hjælpen og overnatningen, og kørte så fra Coober Pedy. Morgenmaden blev indtaget i bilen og var tørre toast, frugt og gulerødder …til Matildes store skuffelse. Vores yoghurt stod nede i grotten, men ...

... We passed through the towns of Melrose and Willmington which were quite lovely and saw lots of wheat growing everywhere. There is also apparantly lots of barley grown in the region and the tourist brochures assure you that just about every drop of beer brewed in Australia contains a little bit of South Australian barley. So there you go.

The longest Day

At Ceduna I come across an old friend of Dans and Ollies, the “Storm
Trooper” walking from Perth to Sydney to raise money for charity. I took a
picture, gave him $10 for his charity and moved on.

I rode late into dusk and felt quite uncomfortable but at least I am
here now, at an inexpensive motel room with hot water and a bed.
This was the longest days ride. There definitely won’t be a longer one.

... and how strange was that after being cold for most of our time on the Eyre Peninsula. A trip to Big W to find replacement thongs for Kath wasn't rushed because the air-conditioning inside cooled us down nicely.
