    ... is blessed ;) with two Australian players and an Australian head coach :) So while i wanted the Storm to win, i was pleased for my very wonderful hosts in Keegs' friends (& I now classify them mine too! :)) Marsha, Stacey and Mike, Phoenix Mercury season ticket holders, that the Merc got the win!

    ... which I've always been interested in seeing. One of my favorite things to do on this trip is to think about who we might have a connection to in the area and try to get together with them even if it’s our first time hanging out. With Joe we also shared a family connection so I really enjoyed spending time with them and getting to know them better.

    From past experience we’ve learned that we need at least one day to just hang around at home ...

    We had stayed up chatting (and possibly lighting fireworks) way past anyone's bedtime last night so rolling out of bed took a little convincing. Also with little doggy Dallas in the bed with us I had been neurotically checking on him every hour or so to make sure we weren't crushing his tiny little fluffy bod in the bed.

    Another day of food and friends in Arizona today. Before taking my leave of Tucson, I took my local friend Rachel's advice and headed to a local favorite, Poco and Mom’s, for an authentic Southwestern breakfast; check the above link for the Santa Fe Breakfast with Red Chile Pork.     ... hockey tourney, then a 4th guy from NY joined in early also. Nice guys and fun to play with.

    After that, searching for outdoor dining, we came up empty until we found a place basically next door to the hotel. Its name was Bobby Q's (specializing in.....Barbeque), making us 2 for 2 in visiting Phoenix restaurants with cutesy names mimicking their cuisine (recall Aunt Chilada's from last night).
