... a spot on the sand away from the kiddies and mullets...pretty good time.
Had a dolphin swim within 15 feet of me, probably due to our perfected dolphin and mermaid calls (I had nothing on Brad and Katīs--but it worked).
We had no idea what we were getting into.
But this seems to be the only place on earth that serves Busch Beer in bottles--worth the price of admission.
Today was another kickback day - with lots of housekeeping. Laundry, food preparation and more sorting were the order of the day. We had some minor leaks yesterday so towels etc. needed to be washed and dried and the awnings needed some dryer air before they are retracted. Yesterday I went through some bins of kitchen stuff and found some of the 'tools' I had been missing. Now if ...
Panama City, Florida, United States momadunc... windshield wipes at Advance Auto.We arrived at St. George Inn around 5 PM or so. The Inn is an old house. I had reserved the Windjammer "Suite"--it was actually a regular room, with a King bed. It was like staying at a relative's house, only you had to pay. The bed creaked and was uncomfortable; the toilet ran if you didn't jiggle the handle; the TV was very small and was up on a stand on the wall. But it was OK for one night. We took a walk on the ...
St. George Island, Florida, United States bdodson... It was a true reward for the past 10 days trials and tribulations. We left Apalachicola in a dense fog this morning. That only added to the ethereal feel of the trip. We were visited by two pod of playful dolphin who stayed with us for 45 minutes and came close enough to almost touch. We also saw more graceful blue heron, egrets and a gar. We got into Panama City and discovered the Panama City Marina to be a nice ...
Panama City, Florida, United States lgrubbsThe Marriott Legends is on a golf course, NOT on the Gulf beach. From our condo to the fishing pier is a 10 minute walk. To the beach, a 10 minute drive. We've got the best of both worlds. This morning, it's out to the real beach so mom can "walk the sands." The girls are beaching it while Skip and Gary are ...
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegraTo say my family lives for fishing is an understatement. Mom's father Lew Wright lived on the trout stream. When we were old enough to be "papoosed" on his back, we were out hiking and fishing. Not that we remember any of it at that age. Lew was well known in Western Pennsylvania for his fishing skills. He retired early from Alcoa ...
Panama City, Florida, United States kupdegra... storage, some that I had in the old RV, some new. We finally had most everything as we liked it, but there were still a couple of things Terry wanted checked out at the Tiffin service center in Red Bay, AL so when we finally left PJ's, we drove on up there in the NW corner of AL. While there, we also took the factory tour, which was very informative and made us happy that we had gotten a ...

We were enjoying our stay there with our friends and PJ's really good cooking, as well as, helping with the phones, so we stayed through Memorial Day. Even my little Lika got along fine with PJ's two big dogs. Speaking of Lika, I took her to local vet to get her annual shots and certificates (that we often had to show at some parks, plus we were planning to go into ...

We will be taking 4 hrs of Spanish lessons a day and living with an Ecuadorian family (arranged through the school). Plans for this next part of the trip are still in the works. We are flying by the seat of our pants a bit more this time. Keep your fingers crossed for us! Julia
Panama City, Florida, United States janda... it was on to the tiny town of Vernon, FL where our friend PJ has a house. PJ was supposed to be there at that time, but had a change of plans and couldn't leave Maui. Her friend, Vinny, also lives there and kept company with us. We were able to park in their big back "yard", next to their workshop garage and across from one of the two ponds on the property. Terry fished to his heart's content and caught a bunch of small stuff plus a couple of big ...
