    "We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold..." My friend, Miss P, is one hell of a host.  We have stayed on the beaches of Santa Monica, Hipsterville Centre that is the Arts District, Downtown LA and she had one more place to take me. Palm Springs.  So we left LA and headed East and then south...we did sort of see Barstow, but I'm afraid the were no drugs...no fear or loathing. Or ...

    Coachella... One heck of a bucket list check that's for sure. Where do I even begin?! I came into Coachella as a high maintenance princess who was terrified at the prospect of no power to do my hair, shared showers, sleeping in a van and portaloos. I am now a low maintenance camping master who didn't shower for 4 days and used baby wipes as a replacement shower, wet my hair in a sink and considered it a 'wash', threw all cares about my appearance out the window, slept on the grass, ...

    ... was a very pleasant mid-70s (mid-20s Celsius) through the day, but cooler at night. I did notice that it has risen in the last couple of days to high 80s and low 90s...not quite as pleasant, and a foretaste of what the desert offers up in the coming months.
