Doesn't live up to Comfort Inn standards.

I was very disappointed with this motel. It was not what I expect from the typical Comfort Inn. I it was really a motel (exterior doors) with little thermal or sound insulation, no elevators, and poorly laid out stairs. We had to climb 4 flights of stairs with our suitcases to get to our second floor room from the parking lot. They had a nice bowed shower rod in the bathroom, but it was installed so high the shower curtain kept slipping out of the tub. They advertised refrigerators, but it was really a community-use refrigerator in the lobby of the hotel where the guests could store their food, if they labeled it. They advertise internet, but it was slower than dial-up, and it wouldn't let my husband's computer on at all. The room was the smallest we've had on our trip, and it was the most expensive one yet, even more than we paid for our Canadian rooms. They did have a very good complimentary breakfast, though.

The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. We walked to the nearby shops and had a delicious dinner at Savoury's Restaurant. The pool and spa were so refreshing. And the breakfast in the morning was so good - waffles, eggs, and the sausage was delicious. Thank you so much!

Despite the fact that we got a lousy night's sleep in that room that continued to be hot, we were able to get up and showered when the alarm went off at 5 a.m.

Breakfast wasn't due to start until 6 but the lady who worked the front desk was doing double duty that day and handling the breakfast buffet as well and she told me that she put it …

Did laundry again. Really liked the Hampton Inn in Redding. Stupid little things matter to me like them leaving cups in the bathroom and, if they have a wet bar, including some paper towels. The breakfast was a little different too--omelets with veggies in them, sliced sausage instead of the patties, home fries and even scones. I had just a little …

Today was a day for going off piste.
The next off piste part was the cut off called Priests Station, which takes you straight up the rather steep mountain on a narrow track rather than going on the 120 on a rambling route. Ours was much more fun and it joins the 120 at the brow of the hill anyway.
